The Abraham Kriel Children’s Home has been around for many years, from catering to 7 children in reverend Kriel’s own home in 1902, to looking after the needs of 800 children and 200 adults all over Gauteng today.

Integrat’s volunteer team spent some time in November at the Langlaagte campus, which is also the main campus.  There we were informed about all their current projects and what they hope to achieve in the future.  We discussed many ways in which Integrat could aid them and have agreed to start working together towards a common goal.

One cannot imagine how severely these charities rely on companies such as Integrat to support them.  They are currently trying to organise a Christmas gift for every child, but are not sure that this would indeed be possible.   After a presentation we were lead to one of the 12 houses (Piek House) on the campus where 9 boys live with a house mother.

There the children showed us their handy crafts which they plan to sell.  These boys are surprisingly quite proficient in the art of beading! We were then privileged enough to give them their presents (from a wishlist they supplied) and some lucky packets.  We could not alleviate the pain of them not having parents or of abuse and suffering, but we could supply these children with an hour of happiness.
