If you have sent a ‘Please Call Me’ message in the past, you have used USSD. Unstructured Supplementary Service Data or USSD is a very simple text exchange service allowing you to display menus on a mobile phone, enabling users to interact with these menus. USSD is synchronous thus enabling a very interactive user experience.
USSD is different from other product bearers in that the user is billed on a time principal instead of per transaction. Some of the mobile networks do support Premium USSD services.
